The person entering the consulting room arrives with their own way of perceiving their soul/world relationship. Interiority studies helps individuals recognize that relationship with more clarity. Anxiety, loneliness, a sense of loss and meaninglessness - these are conditions of modernity and each individual has unwittingly found a means to deal with this condition - some are life enhancing, some not so. When the individual finds themselves at a life transition and the structures that once held are found wanting, the soul/world relationship has to be revisited - new ways of perceiving need to be thought. This introduction will help you to understand how psychology as the discipline of interiority is distinct from other psychological perspectives. PDI's commitment is to the dictum, “psychology begins where any phenomenon (whether physical or mental, 'real' or fantasy image) is interiorized absolute-negatively into itself, and I find myself in its internal infinity. This is what it takes; psychology cannot be had for less” (Giegerich 2010, 161,162). My services serve to focus the client on the soul phenomenon they find themselves gripped within.

Colleen is beginning a 6-week introduction to Wolfgang Giegerich and the Psychology of Interiority course in 2015.The class will meet via Skype weekly, beginning Wednesday evening, January 7th. Each call will be 90 minutes, beginning at 7 p.m. EST. Relevant essays will be sent to participants for each call's discussion focus. My work is based in Jungian studies and highly influenced by the discipline of interiority - meaning that the subject we work with (the issues you bring forth) will be thoughtfully considered dialectically. The process of interiority seeks for the subject matter to reveal its own truth. Whatever has captured your attention and won't let go (a dream, a work of art, a pattern of thinking, a relationship dynamic, etc...) is where the work begins. I work through Skype.
