Colleen EL-Bejjani holds a BFA in Choreography and Creative Writing, and an MA in Liberal Arts from the State University of New York at Empire College. She earned her certification as an Archetypal Pattern Recognition consultant in 2004 through her study with Jungian analyst, Michael Conforti, PhD., founding director of The Assisi Institute in Brattleboro, VT . She serves on the Executive Committee of the International Society for Psychology as the Discipline of Interiority (ISPDI)as the tele-seminar director, and has presented on the work of PDI in Berlin, Germany, Toronto, Canada, Malibu, California, Rochester and Buffalo, New York. She is looking forward to presenting at the ISPDI International Conference in Dublin, Ireland in August, 2018.
Ms. EL-Bejjani has served as the founding Director of, Hendrick Dance Project since 1989, and Bush Mango Drum & Dance,
a Guinean performing company, school, and community center in Rochester, New York. She has performed regularly, including several seasons at the Merce Cunningham Theater in Manhattan, a shared performance with Urban Bush Women, and as part of the e.e. cummings
International Centennial Celebration. In 1994 Ms. EL-Bejjani’s epic work, Days Swinging Home, received the Lillian Fairchild Award for
artistic excellence, and in 2006, Bush Mango Drum & Dance received the Arts and Cultural Council of Greater Rochester’s Organization of the Year award. She has taught dance, choreography, and cultural studies extensively across the New York State region for three decades in schools, universities, and studio settings. Currently, Colleen is joyfully teaching poetry to high school students in Rochester, New York.
